Bark at your stress
and it will decline
We have all lived one of those moments when:
-
it all gets blurry
-
our hands sweat
-
our mind goes blank
-
and we feel our stomach tied up
This can either happen frequently or during an exam or a presentation or AT THE WORST MOMENT.
The thing about STRESS is that it doesn’t care when or where it will get you. But one thing is for sure: it will get you when the things you want to do will clash with the things you have to do.
TIP: Breathe!!! Because when we are stressed, without of course knowing it, our breathing becomes shollower... so breathe. Watch out: Don’t breathe like you are choking! Just breathe normally, deeply and calmly.
Even when you are home and you get stressed there are many things you can do which can make you relax:
-
Go out for a walk. Turn off everything and go out, spend some time in nature.
-
Talk to someone that you trust. To anyone that will make you feel better.
-
Write about it. It will make you feel better.
-
Take a warm bath.
-
Drink something warm, like tea.
-
Curl up with a good book.
-
Listen to music
-
Watch a comedy
-
LAUGH IT OUT!!!
And if all these don’t work out take a room, fill it with puppies, enter and relax just like in Canada at the Dalhousie University where they filled a room with puppies for the students during the exam time (4th of December- 6th of December) so they could relax and play. The puppies where borrowed from a non-profit organization, Therapeutic Paws, that trains animals to help people with therapeutic needs. Even though I don’t believe that the person who will clean the mess will feel as relaxed as the students one’s thing is for sure: that a room full of puppies sounds like heaven!!!
